The Tourte Waisted Violin Mute, also known as the ‘violin-shaped’ mute, operates on the same principle as the traditional Tourte round mute, but is designed to fit over a single string rather than two.
Practical and easy to use, the mute can remain on the instrument when not in use and quickly slide onto the bridge when required. When engaged, it sits across either the D or A string, reducing bridge vibration to produce a softer, more controlled tone.
Made from high-quality rubber, it provides a secure fit while remaining completely safe for your violin, with no risk of damage to the instrument or its strings. A small pin on the top allows for easier handling and precise positioning.
Many players prefer the waisted (violin-shaped) design, as it tends to feel more secure when left on the instrument compared to the round version.

Returns
Should you be unhappy with your purchase goods can be returned within 14 days of receipt. This does not apply to products where hygiene is concerned and product seals have been broken. Reeds, mouthpieces, pipes & chanters are unreturnable.
You must then return the goods at your own expense. Goods must be returned in the original packaging and condition.
If the goods are faulty or not what was ordered, please contact us within 7 days of receipt of goods and we will arrange return at our own expense.
