About the Brand – Le Blanc:
Le Blanc has a long and distinguished heritage in woodwind instrument making. The company traces its roots back to the 18th century, beginning with Ets. D. Noblet in 1750 in La Couture-Boussey, France, a town historically renowned as the centre of woodwind manufacture in Europe. Noblet instruments were esteemed at the royal court of Louis XV and helped establish France’s reputation for fine woodwinds.
In the early 20th century, Georges Leblanc — from a respected French family of instrument makers — acquired the Noblet business and continued to innovate clarinet design and craftsmanship. His son, Léon Leblanc, an accomplished clarinettist himself, further advanced the company’s instruments with a focus on acoustical research and consistent playability.

Leblanc instruments were imported and distributed in the United States from the 1920s onward, and from 1946 the G. Leblanc Corporation expanded the brand’s presence in North America.
